external hdd seems too cheap

    I would say that price is perfectly reasonable for an external drive. Considering I just picked up a 250Gb internal drive for $70 from Circuit City that price for an external is just about right.

    Sounds about right to me. PC World do a similar Freecom drive for £59 and have a 320GB Maxtor USB external for £75 if you want something a bit bigger.

    strange. i researched this a few weeks ago and concluded that i should be paying roughly double that.

    but then i was looking at lacie hard drives....

    Lacie drives are overpriced.

    Just get a drive + an enclosure. Takes a few minutes to pop the drive in.

    If it makes you feel any better, i paid $120 for a 250 GB Lacie external HD.

    Yeah, I got a 250GB LaCie for 100$ plus shipping. And I have seen other good drives for cheaper.
