Yes you see, but no one expected them to do it.
No one told me?
let's see. There's got to be something Bush can say...
Did anyone think that the Levees would break?
Wait, different disaster, same excuse.
How long can this possibly be acceptable?
There's no way he could have known that that 19 individuals would hijack three cross-country flights. He'd heard some ideas, but no one said "19 on 3."
And even if they had, how was he supposed to know the flight numbers?
I get your point, but actually they hijacked 4 flights.
Remember, other people (FBI? FAA?) had warned that a number of Arabs were taking flight training in Florida under suspicious circumstances. (I.e., they were more interested in flying than in taking off and landing.) You put two and two together and...
The fact that this information was previously blacked out is hardly surprising. The Bush administration is probably the most secretive in history. And while the "official" reason is national security, as often as not the real reason is CYA.
Does this suprise anyone?? The whole adminisration was alerted to Al Queda years before the attack...the night before the attack bush had dinner with some of Bin Ladens family..
I don't find it difficult to believe that Bush knew that a terrorist attack would further his agenda.
Damn, I knew this was Clinton's fault! Look, Clinton knew and did nothing!
Had to get that out there before someone else did. You know it's coming.
You mean years before the attack, like before he was in office?
Obviously there's some bad intelligence. Time to form a new cabinet-level position.
Which obviously exempts Bush from picking up the dropped ball.
I hope it's becoming abundantly clear that the Patriot acts are entirely un-American and should be repealed or allowed to lapse (meaning whichever provisions had sunset clauses).
The "reasoning" for the Patriot acts has been exposed as a total fraud.
This is all George W.'s fault
No, everything that's happened *since* 9-11 is George's fault. This includes not even attempting to solve the problem of global warming or fossil fuel dependence, cutting taxes while engaging in wars, starting wars based on false-intelligence, letting Osama get away, violating civil and human rights with his patriot act and gitmo abuses, and focusing so narrowly on terrorism that he's forgotten that government's primary repsonsibilty isn't waging war and killing people abroad while his own citizens die of neglect at home.
