    Thank you!!!

Once you install it, go to system prefferences, then the mail, contacts, calendar choice, and then select facebook and add your account.

Did you read that entire post and do what it said?

If you did, there's a Facebook option in Notification Center. There's a Facebook option in Safari too then, next to the address bar

So, one has to choose between being able to use Messages to chat with your Facebook friends or being able to have Facebook show in Notifications Centre? That kind of sucks...

In Messages, add a Jabber account with username being your Facebook direct link-name (you know how you can have facebook.com/bushido as your direct link to Facebook? Then bushido will be your direct link-name) @chat.facebook.com as username, your Facebook password as password, chat.facebook.com as server, 5222 as port, leave the two boxes un-ticked.

    So bushido@chat.facebook.com, secretpassword1, chat.facebook.com, 5222, done.

Now you can use Messages to chat with your Facebook-friends :)

In order for it to work, you have to add your Facebook account in System Preferences first, then add the Jabber account in Messages.

But, isn't Facebook supposed to send notifications to NC when I've received a new comment, or a post, friend request or what not? As of now, it feels like the Facebook integration is purely from OS X to Facebook, and nothing at all from Facebook to OS X.

I don't know, but I definitely don't see Facebook in my notification center after installing that package. So Maybe?

Yap that's apperently all there is now. That's probably the reason why they delayed the public-implementation for this fall.

Fair enough then, no point in scratching my head over trying to make it work any more :)

No worries. I hope it will be integrated automatically later on, and that notifications will work properly. That way, maybe I won't feel the need to check their webpage like five times a day just to see if someone's contacted me ;)

You can download trillian from the app store, and connect it to your Facebook account. You wont miss anything that way, its what I do.

Wow, Trillian? Haven't used that since its initial release over ten years ago :) Thanks for the tip!

Turns out it wasn't really what I was looking for... Thanks again though!

It actually does a pretty good job. Allows you to chat with people online with facebook, plus has a thing at top of your screen that opens a small window that shows you your facebook time line. Does the same thing with twitter if you use that.
