I'm gonna go ahead and throw this out there, since Apple will never allow it, and even if they did, movie studios would either kill it, clutter it up with ads, or gobble up all the profits on royalties:
Someone needs to develop a skinnable Facetime app with video effects.
Gesture-based computing is nice, but I feel "The Future" will not be fully realized until I can be told, "that's not my kind of place" in the proper context of a Blade Runner Vid Phōn conversation, complete with grainy video, graffiti, and ubiquitous Bell Labs logos.
I mean, let's face it. If I can't answer a video call -in black and white, no less- at 3AM to reassure my client that "we are going out there to destroy them -not to study. Not to bring back. But to wipe them out", well... then what the heck did Apple build this thing for in the first place?
