I've been using RBrowser/RB Lite, and it's just too slow. Anyone know of any other FREE apps?
Cyberduck is the choice of many here. A search will show you that.
Can't go wrong with command-line FTP in terminal.
i use Fetch.
If youre a student its free.
Fugu. It is free, universal and I think it is opensource as well.
My vote goes for Cyberduck as well
I use Cyberduck, too. Admittedly, I've never tried the others...but the duck works well enough for my purposes.
I've had Cyberduck crash on me multiple times...if you can afford it, Panic's Transmit is amazing.
I've been a Cyberduck user for a long time, but since 2.6 was buggy as H*** on large multifile transfers I downloaded the trial of Transmit. I was impressed. Very impressed. Impressed enough to spend $25 when the trial expired. A good, stable ftp client is imperative for much of the work I do, and Transmit seems stable as a rock.
Cyberduck is nice and all, when it works, but Transmit is in a completely different league.
I use this to upload as it is simple as can be. You can also make it a finder plugin so its an option in the contextual menu or a stand alone app.
After giving up on the very buggy Cyberduck I paid for Transmit. It's worth every penny. They have a free trial, you probably won't find any better ftp program (apart from the command line ftp ).
I'm a paid Interarchy user, personally (prefer it to Transmit), but for free FTP at work Fugu seems to get the job done just fine.
