I have a 1920x1080 image above a video on my timeline. When I preview my project, I'm seeing a portion of the video behind the image. There is no cropping applied to the image in FCP's Crop palette, and there is no transparent border when I open the image in Photoshop.

Any clue?

Check your translate settings and make sure the default center-point position and scaling haven't been altered.

Also, check your file's metadata inside of FCPX to verify that there is no alpha whatsoever - explicitly set alpha to "ignore" if necessary.
