I'm on OS 10.2.8 on an Dual Drive 1.25 Processor. I have four files on my desktop ( 3 jpg's and 1 .AIF sound file). When I try to either move them to another location or the trash I get an error message that says the following

"The item "z.aif" is being used by another task right now. ( Other tasks includemoving, copying, or emptying the trash.)

Try again when the other task is complete."

I have tried to restart, relaunch the desktop, and even change the ownership and permission settings. And I still get the same message.

    Any suggestions???????

Open you Applications folder. Open Utilities. Double click Terminal.
