Help--the finder column headers are un-clickable at times. How do I make this go away and never come back ever? I want my clickable column headers back--forever!

Drag your com.apple.finder.plist file to the Desktop and Restart the computer.

You do NOT need to do what Gregg said above.

You have it set to "Arrange By" something. All you need to do is right click on the background and select "Arrange By": None

Image is in List View. When I go to list view, right clicking the background does not give me Arrange By as a choice. Show View Options doesn't either. The reason for that I think, is because the way to change the arrangement in List View is by clicking the column headers. This is not working for the OP, leading me to wonder if the Finder plist file is corrupt.

    Say what?

I'm sorry. I was mistaken. I was thinking that that was when finder was keeping the headers at the top of the window. But I just played with it, and it is the sort by type view.
