Hi there,

I recently deleted some files and tink something important must have gone as when i boot up Finder doesn't load so i have a blank desktop apart from the wallpaer. No applications run but have been able to do a virus check and its fine...

Could anyone help me out here ?? Is there any thing simple I can do to resolve the problem ??

Many thanks,

Recover from a backup or reinstall the system is what I can think off. I don't know what files Finder needs to function.

The same thing happened to me. I tried everything I could. The only thing that worked was to wipe the hard drive clean and re-install the OS.

Important lesson here - If you don't know what it is don't delete it.

I remember tidying up my macos 9 hard disk once and put some strange looking files in a folder. Trouble was MacosX needed them and couldn't find them, so no startup. I didn't do that again.

Re-install sorry
