So during the writing of a gazillion page, i noticed that my trackpad button has gone wonky....like clickity clat. I have to apply considerable pressure before i can click otherwise if i press gently especially towards the left ish i get the clickity clat wonky clicks (making you think you've actually made a click when you haven't) or sometimes it just gets stuck.

My theory is that maybe there's a particle blocking the leverage but i dunno. Do i have to go and see a genius or are there any tips to fixing this?

You can try running a piece of paper under it from the keyboard side and see if it dislodges something. Otherwise it's probably a take-apart problem.

I have had that type of situation on two of my recent MacBook Pros. Both times a Genius replaced the entire top case.
