Flash in keynote not working

Never really spent a lot of time using keynote, but I've just tried to place an .swf file in a keynote project and it doesn't appear to work. Anybody have any ideas?

Running Keynote '06, OS X 10.4.8, Quicktime 7.1.3, intel.

I've read the technote about 'enabling flash playback' in QT preferences. This didn't appear to solve it.

Might try using something like iSquint to convert it to a QT format, and simply insert that.
