Formac Introduces 16X FireWire DVD Burner

    It's great to see a reputable manufacturer like Formac taking the great Pioneer A08 drive and repackaging it in a form usable to most Mac users. The burning speeds are great too. If I was looking for an external DVD burner, I'd get this one right away.

    Apple Should be Using 16X DVD-/+R DL Capable drives it it's Power Macs by now. It's sad that after spending 3 Grand the top of the line Power Mac still can't get a 16X burner.

    There's a simple reason for this - these drives simply were not available (at all, or just not widely enough) at the time of the most recent PowerMac update. I'm quietly confident that Apple has already noticed this and plans to take action when the PowerMacs are next updated (hint: don't expect new PowerMacs at MWSF '05).
