A day in the life of our kitchen, morning breakfast before school Oct 18th.
Obviously I wish that basket handle was not there.

Great family photo-really captures the getting-everyone-ready-for-school morning ritual. I do remember those past days with fondness. Enjoy them, they go by in a flash before you even realize it!

Last night's dinner; I tried a new side dish-red cabbage and raisins with white balsamic vinegar. It actually came out quite good (the side dish that is-the picture maybe another matter):

Taking pictures of food is hard. I haven't tried it for this challenge. I like the composition and the DOF. It's a bit flat color wise and the hand is distracting. hard to avoid all that in a restaurant though. Creative shot, though.

Cool stove and backsplash. I like the red cabbage and the flame. Overall the pic is really warm though. A closer crop on the dish might be better...not sure.

Thanks for your comments. After I proceeded the pictures I thought about a tighter crop (the hour was late and I had an early wake up) or closer shot (I had to hustle, supper was just about done cooking when I took the shot!). I may go back an play with a closer crop. We recently renovated our kitchen and I did the designing so I appreciate the comments on the stove and backsplash. I love to cook so the layout of the kitchen was critical for me as well as the "look." Thanks again.:)

I got him from ebay, it's incredibly hard to find the size danboard i have, the smaller ones are much more common and cheaper, they're great though, a good challenge to photograph because of their incredibly unnatural contortion.
