    Good News

Gcc is already on your Mac, and it can handle Fortran....

    http://hpc.sourceforge.net/

You will also need to install the Apple developer tools, if you haven't done so already.

One of the deep dark mysteries of OS X is why they leave out the Fortran.

Do a "man gcc" at the UNIX prompt for information on how to compile Fortran programs.

On an Intel Mac, you can use the Intel compilers which provide unlimited evaluation.

Or you can use g95, it can compile Fortran-95 code and works fine on my iMac G5 (there is also an x86 Mac version) though I'm not sure if it can also compile Fortran-77 as well, though I think it probably can.
