Idea:

Is it possible to integrate a kind of marker for threads you've replied to in forum spy? (like how it's done on the forums with these
thread_dot_hot_new.gif
and such) ?

a current workaround is to auto-subscribe to threads you've posted in, even without email notification (i have it set to this) and as such there'll be a checkbox marking your subscribed threads and subsequently, ones you've posted in.

I remember when it was first introduced and people were requesting this (including myself) and someone came up with the very clever suggestion of changing your settings to subscribe to any thread you've posted in. The result in ForumSpy being a little tick next to the thread title.

Edit: Beaten by PoD! But I'll throw in a pic for good measure...

oooohhhhhhhhh, that's what those check marks are. i feel somewhat silly about the things i thought they could have been. :eek:

Ah, that's handy. Still would be nice to have that feature without subscribing. I'm not so picky though.

edit: I actually don't see where to "auto subscribe" anywhere in my user CP, only how to be notified. :eek: <shrugs>

Go to the User CP and select Edit Options.

User CP>Edit Options>Messaging and Subscriptions, its a dropdown, pick your flavor. :D (mine's just set to no email notification)

Seems very strange then as I have that option and PlaceofDis does too so I don't know why you haven't. Can't think of any other way of finding it.

I've done that but if there is supposed to be an option for auto subscription I don't see it. It's in default.
Perhaps the default is auto subscription but I'm not seeing threads I've posted in showing in my subscribed threads.

edit: right, ok apparently default is auto-subscribe. I was looking for another option box to auto-subscribe and such.

Maybe you are only subscribed the threads that you post in after you activate auto-subscription.

if it wasn't activated when you posted, it won't subscribe, but for all future posts it should. like this one should now be subscribed to, no?

Far easier than auto subscribe is bookmarking the code that Mitty gave in this post... substituting your own name for Lau's... ;)

I use this to catch up on every thread I've posted in that's had new posts added to it. It has changed the way I use the forum.

yup. goddamn I can be an airhead. :eek:

I got tripped up thinking there was a seperate option area for auto-subscribe. I didn't associate it with the email notification thingy.

The only problem I have with that code is that is doesn't seem to refresh the search, every time I enter that code it sends me to the same search I made using the same code 10 minutes ago. Is there some limit as to how often MR with generate a search with the same parameters?

Yes, there is some sort of limit to those "Threads I've posted in search" (I've yet to figure out if it's just time and/or activity in threads and/or new threads), but it's just a small annoyance, IMO, and shouldn't matter too much, because those threads that has been answered to should 'bold up' nicely, and I always alternate with "New Posts" search https://forums.macrumors.com/search/?do=getnew and there I can follow the newest threads, anyway... :)
