"Terrist." guess it's a giveaway to the kind of idiot who'd bother doing such a thing in the first place. a confederacy of dunces, indeed.

I hope they sue Fox for so much money that Sean Hannity's mowing their lawn every weekend.

What would you expect from the network that cancelled Futurama to make more room for King of the Hill reruns. ^_^

It gets worse. I clicked through to read the LA Times story that zimv20 linked to, and they've added a correction of their own:

I think they created an entire network for it.

Could be, though I've heard that with 'terrist syndrome', people are wont to say anything.

Seriously, the family should get a lawyer and sue Fox News for defamation of character or libel. And get them to retract and correct their error on air.

Well good luck with that. Under U.S. law, it has to be a deliberately harmful and known lie to be illegal.

At least he'd get some publicity out of the court case and maybe a settlement. I think it's worth pursuing. Some days I wish i was a lawyer so I could take on injustices like this. Of course if I won the case, Fox would offer me $350k/yr to work for them and defend them from similar suits, and I'd take it and then ten years later I realize I've become Dick Cheney without the good looks.

couldn't a lot of hassle be resolved with a sign? maybe one w/ the fox news logo, in the front yard, stating, "The alleged terrorist moved out years ago. Sorry if we caused a problem. Fox News."

i think fox should spring for such a sign. of course, their lawyers would tell them not to admit fault, so...

You're assuming the people who wrote "Terrist" would actually read it. Or should I say, could. This being FOX, no one is surprised. I have a feeling they could win a suit against them, or at least get enough hush money to buy a new house.

Remember when Newsweek was being harranged for their "mistakes" causing violence?

Someone who spells it "Terrist" won't be able to read the sign though. Good idea though.

Fox should pay for them to move to a new home. Probably the only solution

I'm curious as to what the point would be of disclosing the address of a terrorist on air? If this person is truly a threat and their whereabouts are known then they should have been apprehended by Homeland Security, etc. Was Fox/Loftus trying to incite violence against these people?

Yeah, you gotta wonder what the intent was, and it sounds like this guy was just trying be be the best darn talking head he could be so he would get called back for more appearances on TV.

Son of a diddly... you're right!
