My old, cheap GE speakers have bit the dust, my room smells like ozone. What do you sugget? I'm looking for:
    • Sub $200
    • Don't need more than 2.1
    • Nice subwoofer

    edited for a question mark...

You should seriously consider the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 setup. For about $179 you get a lot of power with great clarity. They aren't very old and are already pretty much considered legendary for PC sound. Plus, they are loud.... I mean LOUD!

I'm working on a video right now, so I needed them ASAP. I went ahead and got the Creative I-Triges They fit everything I needed. Thanks for the input.
