I have a Revision B iMac G5, the last model released without the built-in iSight. I've gotten Front Row (a quick Google search can show you how to do it on a non-front row mac) installed and running on this machine, but I can only operate it using the keyboard, which pretty much negates it's usefulness in the first place.

The question is...would a standard front row remote (that you can buy for $30 as an accessory) be able to control front row on this machine? If I'm not mistaken, the remote operates via bluetooth, and this machine does have a bluetooth module.

Anyone tried this? I'm hoping someone can say that it works.

To stop you from doing that, Apple (if my thoughts are correct) intentionally made the remote IR to make the hacks they knew would happen lack features.

Running Front Row on unsupported hardware leads to all kinds of funky stuff when Apple updates the OS. So beware and use at your own risk and peril.

Just note that there are plenty of third party remotes that work, some even designed for Front Row and priced similarly to the Apple remote...
