I didn't think it was that steep considering what you get. I paid ~$120 for each of the batteries and they still hold ~8+ hrs of charge when both installed. I know I won't get all my money back but I believe this is a good deal given the stuff I'm including.

Nice Pismo, I hope you get as much as you can out of her.

The Macbook/MacBook Pros are really, really killing the value of the G3 and G4 Powerbooks.

That's a nice little entertainment unit computer, possibly a *light* web or e-mail server for a *small* business or family, network admin computer, or music server. I have an old G3 Wallstreet lying around that I can hardly use because there is no firewire, usb, or dvd! I haven't had much luck with the variety of wireless card drivers either. Anyways good luck, but remember you can get a brand new mac mini for <$599 which is only $100 more than your "Buy It Now" price.

I hope you get what you want for it, but you might think about the market a bit before you fork over your $7 (or whatever it is...) to eBay for an auction on which no one bids. Not trying to be a jerk, just my 2 cents.

I doubt you'll receive any bids on this. I cannot imagine why anybody would pay that much for a six year old computer with nearly zero software support from Apple.

I've got one with the same specs. Running 10.4, the only thing it can't do as well as an ibook g4 is record LPs. Even with the price drop in g4's, this isn't *that* bad of a price.

I wouldn't say they were suckers. They wanted it for word and basic internet. I would take this any day over a PC laptop... I sold it with a lot of other stuff.

Edit: didn't add PC before laptop...

I came by this old thread when I saw it in my bookmarks. I sold the 17" PB 1.67Ghz for $1600 in January. I was sad to see her go but know I have a new baby :D
