so i got my first car today, Black 1996 Honda Civic... man, I missed the boat on driving (no pun intended). this thing is so much fun, heh, especially coming from driving our van (one reason i HATED driving for so long). i was just kinda wondering what you guys got as fiirst cars, and what it was like to drive your own car at first.

    have at you! ;)

1988 F-250 4x4!! God that thing was a tank. I got it my senior year in high school, and it was a stick, and one day in the parking lot i rolled back into a girls brand new saturn. Put a nice dent in the top of the hood. Good times, Good times. Now i got a 2000 Ford Danger Ranger, and its an auto (thank god).

I can't drive but I already share a Honda Civic hybrid with my
    sister (who can drive).

I don't really mind sharing a car, because I don't plan on driving
    that much.

    a 94 ford escort....ahhh the memories

it seems that no matter what it is the first car that you own and drive you become attached to for the rest of your life...i definitely believe that. a ford escort is one piece of crap car but i will love my dearly for everywhere its gotten me. and it is a wonderful machine to me.

Before I had a car, I took the bus to school. So when I finally got my own wheels (a Toyota), I got a personalized plate with a reference to busses. The first time I took my car to the Toyota dealer for service, they put the charges on the bus company account. It turned out that they serviced the bus line's staff vehicles and they assumed that I worked for the bus company!

Yes, I 'fessed up and paid for my car service. I like to think of ways to "beat the system" for the intellectual challenge of it, but I don't actually use these ideas because I don't like to cheat. I'm still selfish, however, since I'm honest because I feel better that way.

Which reminds me of the probably apocryphal story about the man who asked the car dealer if he could drive the car in the showroom home to show his wife. The salesman said yes, and the man proceeded to drive the car to his home, which happened to be in another state.

Had a Chevy IROC Z-28 for a while there. Then it got stolen. Twice. After the second time I said screw it. Now I drive a 93 Pontiac Sunbird LE. Not too passionate about it but it's been good to me. I might either get a PT Cruiser or a Honda Civic EX in the future. A lot of new vehicles to choose from coming in the next year.

hee hee. A 1971 Chevy Nova coupe :D

six cylinder with a powerglide! At least until I blew the engine. Then it was a V-8 with a four barrel and a Powerglide! Ahhh, that thing was a ball to drive :p Oh, it had headers and dual exhaust too. And the slotted mags. And air shocks.
Fond memories here. Especially now, since I'm tooling around town in a 93 Villager.

that's classic. my grandpa had a Black Pontiac Fiero for awhile in the 80's/early nineties, and now he's in a villager.... 96 maybe. it's a shameful downgrade, lol.

    Acura and Honda rule!

Congrats on the new car you'll love it. You can add a lot of extras on a civic, especially the motor. As Tim Taylor (from Home Improvement) would say: "ho ho ho ho ho!"

First car was a 1985 Toyota Supra. Was a great car good power and handling. Fun in the snow to ;)

The car I have now is a 1992 Acura Integra GSR, the best car you could ever own!!! Lots of fun, I hope to have it until the day I die. But I doubt that will happen because it has 193,000 miles. However by Honda and Acura standards it's just getting broken in. :D hehehe

whatever, the integra was the cheapest piece acura made. it was cheap and made on the civic frame. the legend was such a bad ass car. mine has a nice spoiler, bose stero, seat warmers, power everything, cruise built in cell phone built in hands free talking and all the goods. this is al good just because it was made in 92 or 91 when much of this was making its way onto the car scene (I think, lol). I actually like my acura more than the z3. z3 doesnt hold as much, but does have the drop top and better handling, not as fast as my acura though. once my mom gets her new car i will get the z3 maybe. im talking her into a s2000, although the boxsters are sure nice, maybe even a z4 now that it is built on the 3 series chasis.
