This video has floated around on these boards in the past but it never hurts to get a reminder on how big of a jack ass Ballmer is.

Has anyone found any hard evidence that this was actually broadcasted, or was it just a test commercial?

I find the mailing address and his comment about Nebraska extremely unlikely to be real.

I think it's a good ad... Self irony really suits him well (as opposed to the jacket)

Umm people, he acted like a jack ass on purpose. That was an internal video balmer made to amuse the employees at microsoft at that time. Hence the fake address.

Get a grip, your microsoft bias is showing pretty damned hard.

I wonder what's wrong with Nebraska

Or maybe what's right. Maybe Windows is banned from Nebraska. I should move there. :D

Strange. That didn't run on t.v. anywhere I was. I can tell you with certainty that I never saw any t.v. advertisements until Windows 3.x arrived.

Besides that, I don't remember Windows 1.0 looking that nice or having reversi or colour support but that is a PC AT, apparently with EGA video, which would be timely although Windows 2.0 slowly ran on the original PC or PC XT.

It's not a real commercial. It was made for other Microsoft employees to be shown at internal meetings, kind of as a joke/parody of themselves.

    Regardless

If it's an internal video you'd think Ballmer would want to maintain some sort of semblence of dignity. I mean, those are his employees that would be seeing it.

It has nothing to do with a Microsoft bias. He's acting like a clown, period. If it were Jobs or Woz, they'd still be acting like an clown. Despite your objection to it, this is a Mac site and occationally we will poke fun at the competition. It isn't because we are biased. I think somebody needs some sleepy time tea and a nappy poo.

I asked my self that exact same question! :p

The funny thing is I wouldn't pay that much for the copyright to Windows XP Pro now a days, let alone Windows 1.0 back then... Then again, I could take the copyrights and make Windows open source...

I had trouble paying attention after he said "HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK MICROSOFT WINDOWS IS WORTH?"

I would say, but the swear filter would censor it all out

Not a d*** dime. :D I dunno if it was real or not, but man, was I laughing. Windows 1.0 was horribly slow, and this is coming from the guy who has ran it in VMware using a 900 MHz Processor! It was a horrible OS, such a cheap knockoff of MacOS. Haha, Reversi. They dont include that anymore. If Windows was seriously banned in Nebraska, then I'm gonna have to pack my bags and move! XD Ballmer still acts like a complete moron, have you seen the video of him at the press conference dancing like a chimp? :D

I wouldn't mind shelling out $200 for a Windows XP copyright. Then no one could use it. I'd bite the bullet for society.... :D
