future macbook harddrive

    what do you think it will max out to? Will I ever see 300 gb harddrives available for the my macbook down the road?

    Fujitsu is supposed to be shipping a 300 GB drive very soon.

    When the warranty is over or if my hard drive ever breaks I would DEFINITELY get a huge hard drive and use my external as simply a direct backup. Drives arent too reliable, you can never be too careful.

    I wonder how much that 300 gig is gonna cost

    Those Fujitsu drives are still only 4200RPM :( . Well, I suppose that's all I expected.

    I'd like to know if/when a 5400RPM 200Gb drive might be available!

    Even better, Hitachi is expected to launch a 7200 RPM, 200 GB drive sometime in the first half of this year and a 5400 rpm 250 GB drive in the second half.
