G4 cube caperbilities

    I wold like to know how far anyone has taken there cubes as I am considering upgradeing mine some more

    do and dual procesor cards work (apart from the 450 &500)?

    I found a page that claimed that a ati 9000 will fit in a cube is this true and how much moding is reqired?

    Check out cubeowner.com's forums, there is a lot of info there about upgrades you can and can't do. Although I will tell you that as of now there are no supported dual proccessor upgrades for the cube as they draw too much power for the Cube to handle.

    check out applefritter.com. he modded a cube to be dual cpu

    I've got a powerlogix 1GHz single, and it works quite well. Not quite to 100 xbench points, but close.

    Another update you should consider, that makes a surprising difference, is replacing the hard drive with a 7200RPM drive. That is a cheap and simple way to get 10 xbench points.

    Like most Cube owners, I argue with myself as to whether to put more money into it or save for a G5. Frankly, I don't think a $400 CPU upgrade is a good investment, unless you're really attached to a small, quiet, attractive computer.
