Hi out-there... can anyone help with this one please?

I have this fantastic Mac Mini G4 system running Tiger but it occasionally gives a little 'tick' noise and the power supply has cut out to the 'Mini' box. I have to unplug it from the mains to reset the power supply again. I have now replaced the power supply (85watt) for a unit I got off the internet. Everything has been excellent for about 3 months; then... I am burning a DVD ( a program I recorded with Eyetv) and part way through the burning process there is that 'tick' noise and the power has cut to the Mini box. Now my lovely system is letting me down. Am thinking of replacing the DVD do I have to get an Apple compatible replacement? What about drivers for this? Has anyone had this problem with an ominous 'tick' before?

Your help would be greatly appreciated as I love my Mac Mini even if it is getting old now :(
