I have a MDD with a combo in the bottom slot and a pioneer 104 in the top...ive noticed that when i take my cds or dvds out after them being in for 5 minutes or more they are really warm...

is this normal? it wasnt with my pc. but my pc didnt have 2 drives so close together, it had about 2 spaces inbetween..

    thank you

your drive is probably spinning them for the full five mins rather than spinning them down, which makes the disks warmer

i thought that but it actually wasnt..

i have just popped my empty drives out now (which have been idle for about 30mins) and they both still feel really warm..

maybe there just isnt enough cooling around the drives in these things..

i hope it doesnt effect the cd/dvdr writing process
