Well without being overly technical thanks to a lack of knowledge to do so, the major question I would ask you is what you want. Your comparing your idea of getting a 12" *book to this 17"er, which regardless of iBook vs. PBook comparisons and whatnot, is quite a different beast all its own.

I'll let others comment on the pricing as I have no experience with that, however unless your reasoning for getting the 12" iBook was cost and this *good* price on a 17" PBook allows you to attain more, I would suggest you ask yourself which setup you truly want because 12 is a bit different than 17 :p

One of my friends is selling his PB 17" 1.33 I'm not sure if I should buy it or not b/c I was thinking about getting an iBook 12" for christmas. He's asking for $1500 but I think I can bring it down to $1300. I was wondering if this is a good price or not??
Here are the complete specs on it...

Depending on the condition of the 17" PB being sold, it appears to be a bit of a bargain IMO.

I paid £2350 for the same model less than a year ago, and still consider it to have been worth every penny :)

The 12" is probably the better computer if you wish to transport it quite a lot, the 17" better if it's your main computer and you wish to transport it from time to time.

I'd buy a 17" for $1500 in a heartbeat - I have the same model right now and paid way more than that when it came out - the thing is the best laptop I've ever owned.

$1500 is a great deal. Buy it. I went from a 12" iBook G4 to a (now) 17" PowerBook 1.33GHz and though I liked the 12" iBook.....it does not compare to the 17" PowerBook (for me). Get 512MB more of RAM (total 1GB) and it will move along fast.
