Hello People. I am a new and very anxious mac user (did the change over) I purchased a used powermac g4 400mhz agp (sawtooth) from a friend for $ 440.00. here's what I got:
Powermac Graphite 400mhz G4 tower stock
    512MB RAM (256mb,128mb,(2)64mb)
128Rage Pro AGP 16MB VRAM video (dual VGA/DVI) stock
    10GB Fireball+ LM 7200RPM HD stock
ADAPTEC (powerdomain) 29160N Scsi card U160
    9.1GB Cheetah 10K U160 68pin 4MB Cache
    36GB Maxtor/Quantum Atlas III U160 68pin 8MB Cache
apple pro optical mouse (quicksilver/snow) white
    apple extended keyboard graphite

I have some upgrades that I want to already do. I purchased (ebay) a Sonnet Temp ATA 100 pci controller card. I have (2) 120GB WD SE 8MB Ultra 100 IDE harddrives (from my previous system- DELL Dimension 4400 computer) also have a Superdrive A04 (in an external ADS dual firewire/usb 2.0 enclosure) that works under windows and OS 9, OS X just fine.
Questions: Will I have a significant improvement on the harddrives if I just use the scsi drives from A/V (video edition/some photoshop) if I replace the 10GB with the 120's? Will the Sonnet Ultra 100 card improve through-put from the standard ultra66 built-in? Is it a worth it upgrading my cpu to a 550 or higher? Again I will be doing some light video edition and photoshop applications. Nothing like NLE. Please I appreciate your replies and suggestions.

    TAKE CARE ! ;)
