If you've got a 'Contrasts' shot that was taken outside the June 2006 Assignment thread period (6-30 June 06), post it in this thread.

I took this in 2002. i saw the fork and plate sitting on the ground while waiting for a flight in an airport and thought it would be an interesting b&w shot.

Great pic, brett33. Color, texture and content in contrast! I love poking around in the foreground's detritus.

The intent behind this shot was to show her soft side while also highlighting her athletic and competitive nature. It was shot in March of 2006.

Here's one of the first photos I ever took with my D50. No editing. I just got this lifeless background and life coming from the middle. That was the intent, and luckily enough, that's what my noobie ass got, which was lucky considering how I had never used my D50 or knew how to operate it.

Oh, and anyone who tells me that a tighter crop is a good idea is probably right (my stupid Dell at uni can't even crop a fracking photo.......gotta install other programs, but I don't have admin privileges on this machine and don't have my own computer right now.....D'OH!).

So far, the big "winner" for this thread IMO! Absolutely love it!

    Tibetan contrasts

Took this picture in Lhasa, Tibet last year. Shame about the bleached background (the sun is like a dose of Xrays in the day there!) but I love the pic of a traditional monk texting the monastery on his mobile and carrying home a plastic carrier bag of toilet rolls!
