    One can only speculate as to how much better off this country would be if we stopped trying to solve everyone else's problems and focused on our own.

    Unfortunately, I don't realistically see us getting out of there anytime in the near future. Ten years, perchance.

    According to news reports I've heard, I believe we will have bases there for at least my generation and my son's generation. Similar to Korea....

    There's no combat in Korea though. We have bases all over the place with no fighting. But I don't think we'll ever end the violence in Iraq, so I think we have to pull out completely.
