Wait, no EDTV included for an additional $500? Those cheapskates!
    /sarcasm

    Oh, I like this.
Hell if I'm paying $700, I'd better get one at launch.

Looks like they're at it again. How $$$ was that "Ultimate 360" bundle again? $10,000? Sheesh.

    man,

I'm really sick of this "bundle" crap the stores like to pull to eek as much cash as possible from people. especially on the system thats supposed to be a draw this year BECAUSE of the low price.

Store bundles could be a sad side-effect of people buying cosoles at launch only to resell them on auction sites for a profit.

When somebody buys a console to resell on a auction site, he often doesn't buy games with it. Video game retailers are making very slim profit on consoles. ($12.49 for the Wii) so it's kind of unprofitable for them to sell all their lauch units without any games or accessories. Bundling games with their consoles is a way for them to work around this.

Then again, it might be simple greed. I'm only thinking aloud here. ;)

I remember the Xbox 360 bundles were like $2000 for their "omega" package. Me and my friend thought that was hilarious. They had like 5 different bundles and they just kept gettin omre ridiculous in price. I want to the the Omega PS3 bundle :D

It has said that on the site for a while now. That is only stating about "In Store" preorders. I couldn't find anything about online preorders.

Edit: the flyer says it will be available for order on Nov. 9

So for $700, what do you get. I mean, the bundle is almost 3x the system alone. So there should be a lot included, by which I mean 4 total controllers, a 4 Gig SD card, component cables, classic controller, about 5000 Wii Points and half-a dozen games. If that's the case, then it isn't really a bad deal. :p

I got this e-mail too. This is crazy. I wonder what games you get though?

I guess this somewhat good. It's kind-of advertising that you get a huge bundle for the Wii for the same money as a PS3 and extra controller & game.

Ah... so I'd assume that on Thursday they might just let people know what'll be in that $699 package, as the site doesn't currently say (as far as I can tell).

Or not. They'll sell out of them even if they just say "Wii and some other stuff".

Gamestop posted what the bundle includes:
Console, 1 GB Memory Card, 6 Games (Zelda, Madden, Trauma Center, Red Steel, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Super Monkey Ball), a subscription to Game Informer, and a 12 month extended warranty.

Making you buy the extended warranty seems a little shady. I bet the FTC would have something to say about that....everyone knows extended warranties are a rip off.

That's not really that good of a deal. I'm not sure how much the warranty is but say it was $100 then you're only saving $30 and you don't have a choice of games. I think Wii Sports and Zelda will keep me busy for a little while. I'll just stick with those.

They are definitely giving it to you up the corn pipe...
You figure the system is $250, 6 games would be $300, the Game Informer is $15, and let's say the memory card is $50. That is only $615 before taxes.

But, they will sell out of them.....there is a sucker born every minute.

    Plus shipping: $650.
    Still a rip-off.

Well, of course $80 shipping and taxes will be on top of the $699.

if its like any other bundles from eb or circuit city etc. it will be the exact price of everthing combined... no deal. The only place you can usually find a discount with bundles is costco. But ebgames is always more expensive than every other store and their quantities are miniscule in comparison so I won't even try there.
