    Hello guys!

I am taking a plunge into garage band.

-quickly, what if any are the fundamental differences between garage band and final cut pro, besides of course the lack of video?

-also, i want to import a bunch of mp3s, they get recoded, but there is a limit! "maximum number of real instrument tracks reached" --surprised!

i have a feeling that there is a difference in how an audio program organizes the information. "locking... renders the track to the harddrive" --so are "normal" sound bits stored in the ram?

i dont know why you hit a limit... the most real tracks you can have is 225...

if you cant get that many tracks in, its because your computer cant handle it.

i havent used FCP, but difference i know of is that garageband is free with new macs, and FCP is quite expensive, but good.

The best way to learn GB is just to muck around with it. Plug your guitar or keyboard in, play with effects... its great fun :D
