OK, so I need a bit of help and have no clue as to where I should as so I'm here.

I captured some raw audio of me playing the guitar through garageband. Exported over to itunes and it plays great.

HOWEVER, I want to change it to an mp4 format with an mp4 extension so that I can share it on the web with my friends.

    Advice appreciated.

.mp4 is the extention for mpeg4 video. So in that case you would need to load it up into final cut pro or iMovie and make a video. However if you just want to keep it audio than the .m4a exention is has now will work with itunes or quicktime on any other system. Or if you mean you want it as mp3 then in iTunes click on the song, go to the Advanced menu and select "Convert Selection to MP3" (if it doesn't say that then open your preferences and click on Importing, and change it from AAC to mp3)
