In the early chapters, ( it may change later...I do not know) Hillegass creates classes in Xcode, then drags an NSObject into IB etc etc.
Following a podcast about the same work, I notice that the classes and connections etc were all created from within IB, which looks really nice.
But, my IB seems different. For one, I cannot figure out, nor find out, ( I have probably missed it in the documentation) how to get the "tabbed" look in IB which has "instances, Classes, Images etc" across the top. And secondly, what do "real" programmers do? :) Create classes, IBOutlets etc in Xcode or IB? Are there many advantages to this?

That "tabbed" look is from the old version of IB. In the new version of IB it doesn't use the tab view anymore.

Personally I don't use IB to create new classes. I do it all in Xcode.
