iPod Genius on old 80gb classic?

I thought all classic supported this, so I got a refurb from apple yesterday for 169.

Today when i got it genius is not available =\

I remember reading in sept a update is coming for old classic, so I thought it would be out for old ipod already

Any news or update on this?

I haven't heard of an update, but I don't know why Apple would refuse this on the Classic. I also have one, so I hope they do upgrade it at some point.
