After seeing the problems people are having on the Macbook Pro, I am having a tough time deciding whether to place an order for one. What are the chances of getting one without problem?

Seems like the problems are pretty big, or is it just that most people writing on these forums are having the problems? While the people without problem are not reporting?

    Some thoughts please?

From the history of peoples posts, alot of them choose to wait for a revision B before they buy a new product. If you are concerned then you might want to hold off a few months until a new Macbook comes out, perhaps some of these minor problems will have been fixed :)

For obvious reasons, people are far more likely to post about problems because they are looking for solutions, ideas and sympathy. I expect to purchase soon and I really believe you have to have some luck on your side because there have been problems reported with various products.

Some imperfections are within the tolerable zone for some, but for others they cannot accept a product that is somehow flawed. In Apple's case, the price premium often fuels a greater degree of discontent ... such as with dead pixels, the ease with which the nano screens get scratched, etc. Good luck with a MBP purchase. My fingers will be crossed especially since I experienced issues with both my Performa 578 and current iMac.

I'd wait about six months or so - there will be a Rev. B by then.

If you wait for a RevB, and there still are some problems (humans are not perfect, not even Mac; the chances of the RevB having flaws are possible), you would want to wait for RevC and so on.

So I recommend that if you need the laptop, go on and buy it. I mean, there can be some flaws in the MacBook Pro, but the flaws aren't that big.

    Enjoy the moment.

GarbageCan - I just purchased a MBP 2.0 from COMPUSA - Dead Quiet, no noises, no dead pixels, no issues thus far & WAY FAST - very impressed:D

Also - many of us believe that there are NO "Rev X" Apple releases. They introduce new features that fix some old issues and introduce new problems. The "Rev D" High Resolution 1.67 Power Books had significant screen issues and some still suffer the defective lower memory slot - thus..........

We have had GREAT experience with virtually all of our new Macs - including many "Rev A" machines.

    GO4IT:D :D
