When I try to submit this song from iTMS Norway or UK (same link - goes to the store I've chosen) I get a "Warning - You have not provided a valid song link". When I try finding the song while the US store is chosen, it seems like the song is unavailable in the US. Does this mean that all song suggestions has to be available in the US store or is this a fluke?

Well, it seems like it's not a fluke. When I try to add this song I also get the Warning, and cannot submit... :(

I mentioned this a while back, when the 'song recs' link was implemented. Nothing happened... quite a shame, cause the US music store has zero indie.

Today, this happened to me for the first time with a song that *is* in the US store....

    Social Distortion - Making Believe

This song also gives me the same error message....

Happened just now with Gwen Stefani's new single.
By the way, is she just systematically releasing each and every track as a single? So far, tracks 1, 2, 3 and now 4 have been released as singles. What's the bet that the next single will be track 5? :p

I too have had trouble with DailyTunes today. Given the day of the week and hour of the day, if this is a glitch in DailyTunes it probably won't be fixed immediately. If I learn more, I'll post here.

I hate it when iTunes acts like a hollaback girl. :p  :D (Not that that's the song you're referring to.)

I don't remember the last time the submit engine actually worked since I get the warning error more than anything now

I just tried to submit The Tale of Sir Robin as my first song on DailyTunes, but it doesn't work. I'm relieved (I think) that I'm not the only one having problems, I thought I was doing something wrong...

Well, if you're trying to submit that song, then you are doing something wrong!  :D But there's also a problem with the system. ;)

Although, that reminds me, that it's been a long, long time, since I listened to anything off of the Final Ripoff. Anyone want to split a bee with me? I really only want half a bee. :D

This problem should now be fixed. Try it again!

It seems like the general problem is fixed, thank you! :) Another song I couldn't submit earlier, Forgotten by Avril Lavigne, was successfully submitted.

For the Tale of Sir Robin link, however, Daily Tunes now recognizes the link but puts the wrong song title. When I preview in Daily Tunes, it says "Song: The Story of the Film so Far," (track 16 on the same album, The Tale of Sir Robin is track 17). I triple-checked to make sure I'm copying the right link.

Since it's displaying the wrong title, I didn't submit it yet. Should I do so and then "report error"? This may be just this one song that has a problem for some reason.

    Thanks again!

We're had this symptom before, now and then, and I'm not sure what's causing it. You can submit a tune even if the title shows up wrong, and then PM a moderator about it (or report the resulting forum post with the Report Bad Post feature) and we'll fix it up manually. If it happens only occasionally, we can survive that way, but if it turns out to be happening to every song, we'll have to launch a full-scale investigation.

Yes, Dr. Q, you and MudBug and Arn and the gang have been very nice about fixing those for me on more than one occasion. Well, two to be exact, and to ditto your "only occasionally" comment. ;)

Thanks for the explanation. I submitted a third song without problems. If I come across another song that I really like that has this problem, I'll submit it and PM a moderator to have it fixed.

    Thanks again!

I guess I left myself open for that comment, didn't I? :D

Don't listen to that Doctor Q guy. He was wrong. :(

The proper way to report a title that comes out wrong is to submit the song and then click the "Report Correction" link in the DailyTunes listing. You'll get a form where you can type "Correct title should be so-and-so" and submit it to us. That way it will automatically get into the right mailbox for us and we can take care of it without the need for Private Messages.

It's no problem! Thanks for the clarification. I can't even keep up with reading the forums here, so I can't imagine moderating them and trying to keep track of everything on Macrumors, Macbytes, DailyTunes... So your help is really appreciated. :)

Now I don't understand anything. I'm trying to submit this song: Bohemian Like You by The Dandy Warhols to Daily Tunes, but keep getting "Warning - You have not provided a valid song link", even if I've chosen the US iTMS and copied the link from there.

Is Daily Tunes still down from the problems mentioned earlier in this thread?

Dr. Q, thank you so much, first of all, for helping us with this. I really appreciate your effort.

I tried submitting the one that I mentioned earlier again too, but I'm not sure if it took or not. When I put in the URL, it gave me the blank listing and the invalid URL comment. I tried copying the URL in once more on that screen, and I accidentally clicked submit instead of preview. It accepted the song, which is strange, if it didn't have a URL.... So I dunno what exactly happened. The song URL is below.

    iTunes URL

Do you think there is something about the way certain song URLs are coded, that mungs the system up? :(

Hey, after 20ish tries over 3 days I finally managed to submit Bohemian Like You... :)

But, when trying to submit Yul Brynner Was A Skinhead by Toy Dolls I ran into more problems. It refused to acknowledge the link at all most of the time, but on a rare occasion it at recognized it as PC Stocker, which is just one song off, as it's the song just before Yul Brynner... on We're Mad - The Anthology.

Edit: It showed up just right when it showed up in DailyTunes... :)

Any (new or persisting) reason that Daily Tunes song submitting is so hard at the moment?

Ok. Now I'm really seeing a pattern here. Whenever I try to submit a song from an album with more than 19 songs, I can only submit the 19 first. If yo try to submit any of the rest the "Submit a Song" page either, wrongly, identifies it as song #19 or will not identify it at all (at a random pattern if you hit enter or "Preview Link/Changes").

    Is this something easily fixed?

Should I just submit when it chooses #19? I've done this twice. The first time the right song actually came out when the song was approved. The other time (a completely wrong song came up and) I had to use the "Report Correction" (but the thread title on that submission wasn't changed, so it's quite hard to find the thread again ;)).

Just now I'm trying to submit this one: Kiss It's my life (Original Version) and Daily Tunes thinks I'm trying to submit song #19 (from the first disc on the box set) "Anything for My Baby", which I really have no interest in submitting... :)

Edit: Just submitted it, so I'm actually a bit exited to see what shows up on Daily Tunes. If it's "Anything for My Baby" a Correction Report will be on its way... ;)
