If you don't like 'em, don't watch the shows. It's not like they're "official" in any way.

While we are at it we better shut down the olympics because people get caught in the drug tests :O
Cheating is a part of contests, it's good that they get caught. Don't ruin it for the people who don't cheat though.

I don't watch them. I still protest the portrayal of ditzy women. Why can't we have nerdy chicks instead?

Well, they're not ALL ditzy. Some of them are really freakin' smart, AND beautiful to look at.

It's just that this time we got a 20-year-old partier. Personally, I think she should have been canned... she knew the rules when she went to the pageant.

I agree. There are smart beautiful women with good judgment (a la Jane Austen). I would have chosen Elizabeth Bennett if I were the judge.

I was driving along A1A highway in Indialantic this morning and a chick in a bikini waaay hotter than Tara "who?" was waiting to cross to the beach access... who needs beauty pageants. It's all superficial anyways, obviously.

Yeah I rather be stuck in Iceland than to see the parade of silliness fall flat on its face.

You need not look far for other portrayals of beauty in this day and age. Are beauty pageants as cheesy as Monster Truck Ralleys & American Idol? Absolutely, but they rake in a lot of cash and some people seem to enjoy em, so their hear to stay.

You'd rather be stuck in Iceland than watch beautiful women walk around, huh? Im not surprised.

Beauty Pageants are fine, but I'd rather watch the Victoria Secret Fashion Show. I love the overdone glam and the women are incredible. Stunning.

Truth. I go out to a frat on a Saturday night and there are many girls there hotter than any of the girls in those pageants.

Miss Congeniality was a hilarious movie, though. :D

Used to be a big deal, but now we have computer pr0n and the likes. Ratings haven't been good in awhile, but as said, they still make money. So people legitimize. Remember when they tried to take the bathing suit part out a few years ago though? Did even worse. I don't like them, but some people do, so whatever. I don't know why some are so shocked at her behavior though. Even the smart ones aren't all prim and proper as they seem. Remember Vanessa Williams?

It's those kiddie ones they need to get rid of. Icky.

They'll never legislate away ways to waste time. Most recreational activities including watching television fall into that category.

I'm all for a "miss voluptuous world" pagaent. You know ... instead of having women 20 pounds under, we could have them at 20 pounds over. ;)

Hmm... Interesting approach. If you don't like gay marriage, would you also suggest you just not watch?

I mean, if morally objectionable things can be ignored that easily... :p

I think it's called "Rubenesque". :p Or just pleasantly plump. Sorry, old movie reference. ;)

I don't like Rosie or Trump, so I haven't been paying attention to that.

Lets get rid of cheerleaders and pop singers to cause its the same result. Everyone watches Britney Spears for her talented singing voice.
