OK, I'm demented  :p  ;) (I wish they had a demented smiley...)

I'm attempting to start a cable TV station. I tried once before, the only issue was I didn't have enough programming.

    That's where you come in.

Would anyone be interested in airing a TV program on cable? My end goal is to start a nationwide cable station, but I'm starting off here in good old Cadillac, MI. I'm working with the local access station to use the (almost unused) Channel 63 that they have. If that doesn't work, I'm going straight to Charter. (Insert the nonexistant demented smiley again)

Anyone willing to help with my crazy scheme?

What type of content do you need?
    What format?
    How many shows/week?

    Just a few questions......

Content: Anything that would meet general local access requirements (no advertising, generally considered "appropriate")

    Format: MiniDV is always best

How many shows/week: However many you feel like ;) ... if you just want one show, that's fine; if you want a series, that's fine too.

    Cool! Anyone else interested?

Also, any ideas for a name for the station? I'm thinking of a slogan like "TV For you, by you"... I just need a name to go with it.

    Good luck with the show.
Just don't end up like this guy. The thread is a long read so I would recommend just watching the clips.

    Plan Update

OK, I've got an email in to Charter about adding the station to their lineup...but if I don't make cable, I'm thinking I'll start an internet TV station. What do you think?

Also, anyone else interested in helping me out?

Wow... clicking the clips of prank calls was way worth it. Roffl, roffl, roffl. I wish we had cable access people to abuse.

Good luck to the poster! :D

That's kinda the point of the project--if you don't (or do :D ) have Local Access, you can put your programming on a (eventually) widely accessable station.

I'm kinda thinking I should go with a web station, because it's a lot quicker to get that out to the world than it is with cable... though cable is cooler.

Everyone, give me your thoughts--web or cable?

Basically, my plan is to get sponsors to finance the station. That's about it, so far...

What type of sponsors are you aiming at? Local ... Any segment, audience, age?
Have you thought about what you want to offer them in return. Not to discourage you but cable exec's would like to know as well.

I haven't really thought about what type of sponsors I'm looking for...

In return for sponsorship, I figured a standard 30 second ad.

So, anyone else interested? So far I have one person interested... so without quite a bit more, the plan goes down the drain. :(
