You only have a few choices:

    • 12in iBook
    • 14in iBook
    • 12in PowerBook
    • 15in PowerBook
    • 17in PowerBook

I'd try a forum search to get you in the ballpark toward one of those machines.

I'd reccomend the 14" iBook that I have, I love it.

Theres plenty of threads about iBooks/PowerBooks, just do a search, which should bring up a lot of information you'd want to know.

If I were in your shoes, then I would get the following-

    15" PowerBook
    -1.67GHz G4
    -1GB DDR
    -128MB DDR ATI Radeon 9700
    -80GB HD
    -Superdrive

No one can answer this question with any accuracy until you tell us:

What you want to do with it? (ex. mail, gaming, video)
What restrictions do you have? (ex. price, size)
Anything you require? (ex. DVD burner, external display)

This thread should be under Buying Tips. There are already a lot of discussion about this there.

    Err...yeah sry, i mean a non-mac system...i've an iBook G4 already...
What you want to do with it?
Hm..pretty much just the basic stuff like surfing the internet, some assignments, checking mails , instant messaging etc...i don't plan to do any gaming and videos on it...
    What restrictions do you have?
Hm...i want a 12.1" screen, thats kinda important, i wanna keep it small and light...price around $1,000 to $1,500 somewhere around there...
    Anything you require?
Hm...not much,a DVD Burner would be useful but its optional...

A non-Mac system? Not to sound rude, but you'll probably get better responses from a PC forum. Its not that people here don't have or know about computers other than Macs, but most of us are pretty biased. I'm sure you'll get some good answers, I just think you'll get better info elsewhere.

That said, I'd recommend looking into Sony. IMO they are the most reliable Windows computers out there. Sorry I don't have specific models for you.

Hey, wait for a year and get an Intel-based iBook. You'll be able to dual-boot windows and OSX. Best of both worlds.

Unless I absolutely needed it right now, I'd be waiting for that.
