I have read posts over the last few days on over how our Lord must be weeping over the Court’s decisions concerning “same sex marriage.” Personally, I envision God as raging instead of weeping over the Court’s codification of perversion and degeneracy. Jesus wept over Jerusalem; however, seventy years later he brought the armies of Titus to destroy the city.

I fear God’s weeping stage over the depravity of American passed years ago.

“God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies (Nahum 1:2).”

God is a figment of your imagination.

The decision to strike down Prop 8( well let the lower courts decision stand) doesn't force churches to marry gay couples. All it does is allows gay couples to get married via the government.

There are two things possibly going on here. Either the religious want to force their beliefs onto others via the government by banning gay marriage or they can't separate religious marriage and government marriage. Prop 8 dealt with the government marriage.

The main issue here is that we are inviting awful wrath on ourselves by declaring the sodomy perversion equal status as holy matrimony. How awful is our sin and rebellion to do such a thing. There is absolutely no moral equivalacy between sodomy and civil rights. This thinking shows how hardened we have become against God and his laws. Please repent now. Today is the day of salvation. Tomorrow may be the day of wrath.

Christians, it may be possible to email or write to your politicians, local, State and Federal and voice the opinion of God. We are His mouthpiece, we are His hands, we are His people and just like Noah, we need to stand up for righteousness. There is no other sin that will bring the severe judgement down from God in the form of total destruction, like homosexuality and same sex marriage. It is in our own best interests to stand against ungodly laws like these. When somebody does turn from their evil ways, Jesus will wash away their sin. ‘If we walk in the Light as Jesus is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son, cleanses us from all sin … If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness' (1 John 1:7 & 9).

And impotence issues as well. Seems to me that if god exists, and if god is all powerful, and if god really did not want gay people to get married, he/she/it could probably, if he/she/it thought about it really hard, find a more effective way to accomplish that goal than DOMA and Prop 8.

My favorite omnipotent beings are certainly those that exhibit lowly ape-like emotions. Those that create imperfect beings and then blame them for their built-in shortcomings are a close second.

You are insulting homosexuals in the name of your own brand of toothpaste. Don't expect any sympathy for your un-Christian attitude.

Let me ask you an honest question: how is it that god is so fired up about gay marriage, but he doesn't seem to be willing to lift a finger to help the 15 million children who will starve to death this year?

Can you show me where God/Jesus said that same sex marriage's are against his will? Also, marriage predates when your particular flavor of theism and deity worship came into existence... why does your religion get to dictate something far older than itself?

    Loving this thread.

How is it that some Christians have the audacity to tell the whole world they know exactly what God thinks and feels?

Yes, indeed. While we may advise people with anger management issues to seek counselling, what can we do with divinities who have anger management issues?

Seriously. Seriously. I really and truly fail to understand the stated - and tenaciously expressed - obsession of divinities with the private sexual lives of consenting adults.

Might not wars, famines, (natural and man made because we have had both) gross abuses of human rights, genocide, natural disasters, nuclear horrors, the plague.....all offer far greater scope for the problem-solving talents of divinities, than this obsession with defining and controlling the mere sex lives of mere mortals - that is, the private lives of consenting adults?

I have to question the sanity of any divinity that threatens 'awful wrath' on a formally recognised union of two consenting adults, when that same divinity - or related divinities - declines to intervene in cases of egregious, say, domestic abuse, enforced child marriage, murder, tax evasion, corporate greed, massive inequalities and the monstrous injustices which accompany the promotion and policing of such inequalities........

Well. Let us just say I disagree with your premise and I disagree with your post. And, if 'awful wrath' is visited upon us for such a senseless reason, I'd rather not be on the same planet as such a perverted divinity.

Yes, but S/He clearly outsources matters of divinely ordained security and sexual control to designated officers, - a sort of class of clergy or other specialists in doctrine - who may, or may not, mangle the message in the process of transmitting it to the rest of us, unworthy lot that we are.
