    Anyone here going as well?

I have a 2:30 appointment at the WH tomorrow. Will be sitting close to the action on Thursday and then will attend a private luncheon with the chairman of the appropriations committee that same day.

The fun part is that I would have attended all this regardless of who won. ;)

I hope there isn't another protest like 4 years ago.

I'll be there. You might see me. I'll be wearing orange, with fringe, and a zig-zag stripe down the side of my pants. I'll also have a white cowboy hat on. I'll also be one of about 370 wearing the same thing, so good luck trying to pick me out...

Security is going to be crazy, though. I can see why they want it to be safe for the President and the people there, but I think some of the stuff they've got is overkill. Of course, it's better to be safe than sorry, and since I'll be there, I'd rather be safe...

Oh yeah, it's also going to be cold...

Well, you can hope, but there's no question that there will be one. I've already passed on two bus tours that are going for that express purpose.

Well, if we were ushering in a NEW president, there probably wouldn't be as much of a protest.

Before we get to a GWB bashing fest here I just want to express that I really like him and hated John Kerry.

This thread really belongs in Political Discussions if we start talking about who we like.

You're kidding right? You do realize people really don't like this guy, do you? Some, for very valid reasons.

Perhaps in the name of freedom we should outlaw protesting. :p

I don't really like John Kerry either, doesn't mean I have to like Bush.

    Political Forums, here we come...

May I ask what circumstances led to this? What are you interests here?

Also, do report back on your impressions/experiences. I am not a fan of Mr. Bush's policies/decisions, but I still find this all very interesting stuff.

Since this may be moved to the Political Forum, in which case you could no longer post to the thread, you might ask for an exemption from the mods to continue.

    Have fun.

    Right you are Blackfox.

What is interesting is that it wasn't the "liberals" that made the first comment down that short road to the PF. :)

    naughty, naughty...

That has nothing to do with the subject of this thread, and will only expedite this threads move to the PoliForum, where the thread creator will no longer be able to post.

I don't like Bush either, but there is a time and a place for everything mate.

Yes, we "neocons" are a bit more laid back about these sorts of things...

Cheers to W for another 4 years! Give 'em heck!

Supporters are planning on spending $40 million for the inaugural. That money should go to improving armor for our soldiers. Or aid for Tsunami victims. Bush doesnt care though, this is his last term in office, and he can say shove-it to the little guys.

In all fairness, GWB did give $10,000 of his $13 Million in personal wealth to the Tsunami cause.

    EDIT:

    That translates to about .08%
That means if you have $2500 in the bank, and you wanted to match GWB's contribution on a percentage basis, you would give about $1.92.

Not being political, just stating the facts.

You don't need a "time" or a "place " to hate Monkey Boy Bush.

You can do it at any time and at any place!!

    I rest my case. ;)

No they're not. The republicans are stiffing Washington DC with the bill, and the rest of the money is going to show off their balls. (Take that how you will).

Sure you have the right to do so, but it's kind of rude to flamebait someone's thread on a related, but different topic.

Start an "I hate Bush" thread if you need to vent.

Personally I wouldn't stand in weather that cold to see an inaugural, but hey! that's me.

i'll be at most of the events, courtesy of friends who work for various senators, etc.

seemed like tickets were harder to come by than in 2001.

"So you gonna watch me, eh, rule the country for another four years? And, by the way, we've started bombing Iran 15 minutes ago."

I know this isn't funny. It is not meant to be funny. Just imagine you lived in Iran.
