I've been enjoying Textie lately, and the iPad version was recently released.

    http://textie.me/

In general, I find it has a more... simple and polished UI compared to Text Plus and some of the others.

I try text 4 but I don't really like the interface.

With text plus it doesn't matter what carrier I text to right?

Better question is do I have to KNOW what carrier they are on? Seems awkward to ask..."What service do you have?". And then I have to test it to see if it works, sometimes it doesn't. I did install one already called iText Pro...but all it did was pull the email address and then send me tot eh email app. You can get a list of what all the providers allow for just by googling it. It si still awkward and prone to it not going through until you nail the exact persons email exchange, etc.

Do any of them allow texting back?

    Thanks!
