To celebrate the anniversary of the first moon landing, Google have mapped the Moon

    Moon map

Zooming all the way in gives some amazing views of the moon's surface... ;)

Very nice. And it looks like Swiss Cheese. Could this mean that the moon is actually Swiss?

very cool stuff - I use local.google.com all the time - the satellite imagery is great.

But there was supposed to have been a commercial satellite launched recently that was going to take hires imagery of the moon - detailed enough to see the remains of the Lunar Missions....but I haven't heard anything about this recently...

Am I the only one who thinks that this looks gross? :shudder: Definitely not Wallace and Gromit worthy-- they are so adorable! As are the Chevron techron cars... and the Serta sheep. :D

On a side note. Moon dust is fatal to humans. Just thought you'd like to know that.
