how far has the national dialogue devolved when there are calls for the return of slavery?
Wow, that is pretty low of him to say. Shame on you Don Goldwater.
Now now, forced labor is not the same as slavery...oh, wait a second, maybe it is.
Ya, I think that it is.
We need new leadership in Washington and we also need a public hanging. Let's start with Goldwater.
I agree, on all counts.
Wow, that's some ugly rhetoric...
Just when I think it can't get any worse. Wonder if he'll be re-elected. Sadly, probably.
The current governor of Arizona is a Democrat
In a way, this is the ultimate right wing solution to immigration. Instead of simply keeping illegal immigrants in the shadows where they can be paid little money, they could be rounded up and forced to work for no money at all. If you were a person who believed certain things about illegal immigrants, then the logic of such a plan would be impeccable.
Well, they are breaking the law, and we know there must be consequences to such things... why not slavery?
Sorry, I should have just said elected. I was under the impression he was currently in office, running for a different one. Apparently he isn't holding any official office at the moment. I'm hoping it stays that way.
America: Come for the forced labor camps, stay for the soylent green.
One person who will never get my vote.. i don't care if he was god.. still not getting my vote
(i bet his not god)
I wonder how Goldwater's gay cousin likes him.
Goldwater is an idiot. While I disagree with amnesty for illegal immigrants, I don't agree with forcing them into labor camps. Moron, he makes us centrists and conservatives look bad.
The proposed Pence Immigration Bill has anti-amnesty conservatives up in arms.
His middle ground proposal would set up recruitment centers on the Mexican side of the boarder, sort of like a string of Ellis Islands as they would like to think of them.
In reality, they will be the source of underclass cheap labor pools for large corporations who benefit from hiring the underskilled and disadvantaged.
What they fail to mention is the projected additional load on social services
handling those who stay here for the required 6 years on the road to citizenship, their newborn and then their projected families.
You really should have stayed abroad, shouldn't you?
