The "psych" is for anyone who thought I actually had received my Xbox 360. Sadly, that's still going to be NEXT week (7 days from today, hopefully).

And no, that picture is in my office.

no. I think Microsoft are the ones saying "psych" at you paying $99 for something that's worth $25.

Thanks... got the A/V guy coming in on Monday to install CAT-6 wiring between the Xbox location and my A/V rack... so I should be able to enjoy Xbox 360 in glorious 1080i HD. :)

Quck question....will my "old" XBox wireless adapter work with the 360? I don't see why it wouldn't, the 360 still has the network port. I just feel like it would be a microsoft thing to do to not allow us to use the old equipment from the Xbox with the 360. I also wish I could use my controllers, I have 5 of them.

    I would think it would.

A question that I have is can you use any USB wireless adapter. I've seen USB dongles that you can use in wireless networks so would it be possible to use this in place of that? I don't feel like paying $99 just to get XBL in the dorm.

Yeah the $99 thing is super steep. I'd rather have 300 ft. of Cat5 cable running through my house than pay $99 for that.

Then again, it doesn't mean it's not a nice looking device...just way overpriced for what it does.

clayj, once you get the new xbox, are you going to get Call Of Duty 2? That game looks pretty sweet.

I believe that the old wireless adapter is one of the ONLY things from the old xbox (besides the xbox live headset) that you can use with the 360. I am positive you can unless the article I read was completely bogus.

Yeah, my bundle is coming with it... it was originally supposed to come with Dead or Alive, but that game got delayed so they switched to CoD 2.

Still gonna have to go buy Madden 2006 and NHL 2006...

I will buy an xbox 360 when I see that it will work with a keyboard and mouse. Hate console controllers.

Ask your ATI buddy if it will work that way...

    thanks,

CoD2 is awesome. I played a demo of it at Best Buy last night, for about 20 minutes. The graphics are impressive, the controls are a little weird since I'm use to Halo 2, but very similar. The fact that there are now shoulder buttons above the triggers was a little confusing at first two. The AI was impressive, and throwing smoke grenades and blasting fools in the head with an old rifle was a bit of fun.

so wait M$ went back to the tried and true SNES controller top L/R buttons?

Which was stolen by the PSX

    perfected by the N64

not used by XBOX, instead they went with the Dreamcast layout.

Yeah, the white/black buttons are now shoulder buttons just above the two trigger buttons., the d-pad/joystick buttons are layed out roughly the same as the old xbox controller, and the x,y,b,a buttons are layed out the same too. The start and select are now toward the top/middle section of the controller on either side of the Xbox emblem. It'll take a little getting used to. But it's not that bad.
