Griffin itrip auto

I just purchased one of these off eBay to replace my old itrip. I just opened it up and it plays and charges my iPod just fine. However, when I plug it into my iPhone it constantly vibrates to tell me it's charging, then not charging, and nothing transmits to thr radio
When I plug my iPhone into my old itrip it plays just fine.

Is this a problem with myphone or the refurb transmitter I bought off eBay?

I don't know what version I have (couple years old) but 3&5th gen ipod works fine and it doesn't work with 3gs or my 2nd gen iPod touch....

doesn't vibrate though.... just gives me some kind of not compatible message....

Mine says on it, "works with iPhone" and I watched reviews on YouTube of it working well with an iPhone 3G.

Think I would be in the wrong to send it back?

"works with iPhone"....

I always look for it saying iP3g or iP3gs on it.... call them and see if that model works with whatever phone you have, but it sounds like you could have an incompatible model iTrip.... i'd be prepared to send it back.....

also, check the griffin site (google it) the site should tell you if your iTrip is compatible .....
