Not really an answer but I have simple thrills with GTA. I downloaded a completed file from Gamefaqs and just drove around having a semi-laugh. i just find it a little too buggy to be fun. I was driving around on a lawnmower, a truck just teleported infront of me and sent me flying down some ravine. Got back up. no cars for ages. I kept looking back at random times and there was no traffic until a random car would just drive past.

could just be my scratched disc though.

That is true, but it is fun. I usually play it for the first few missions and then I end up driving around....
