Halfbrick Studios, the team behind hit iOS apps like Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride, has released an addictive new game called Fish Out Of Water. In Fish Out Of Water, the idea is to launch fish through the air, earning scores based on flight time and number of skips across the water.

The game incorporates a variety of fish with different abilities, along with hourly weather changes that alter the fish hurling conditions. Players will experience tsunamis, icebergs, and swarms of jellyfish while competing to throw fish the furthest. Our sister-site TouchArcade has an overview of the gameplay:
After three fish tosses players are judged and given an overall score to compete in daily league score competitions with friends. The game also incorporates Game Center support with leaderboards and achievements.

Fish Out Of Water is a universal app that can be downloaded from the App Store for $0.99. [Direct Link]

Great little game, enjoying this. I've signed in with google plus instead..

Still has game centre achievements and multiplayer doesn't really exist - its just a feed from other players scores.

Yeah, it is great. What would that person suggest instead of having Game Center?

I really like Game Center and wish all games on iOS and OS X used it. It's clean, simple, and streamlined. And has been mentioned, is great for multiplayer.

It's a nice work in progress and I hope Apple continues to add things to it. At the top of my request list is integration with iMessage, and automatic real time user statuses when playing a game like in Steam (i.e: "I am currently playing _____").

i wish it would save game scores so i dont have to play each game all over again on a new device. now THAT would be a reason to open that dusty app.

Eh, it's alright. Would like to see an in-game currency where you can buy upgrades for fish, new fish etc.

Otherwise, it's not as good as Jetpack Joyride, but you may enjoy it still.

I prefer the horrible casino than a horrible two colors and text flat UI like 30 old unix system...

Only if I can control with games give statuses, turn off getting them etc.

Cause that junk is why I hate Facebook connected games

It can and it will - IF the developer uses the Game Center API.

RocketCat Games saves your scores AND your game progress in a few of their games.

I hate when UI/bot judges get involved with games. Ruins it.

tried it and really liked it. Not using facebook or gamecenter anyway so don't care about that aspect.

The Game Center app isn't that useful (to me at least)…but the API is fine and works great in the apps that use it.

Well, your taste is yours and mine is mine. I'm fine with that.
But, you've had the pleasure of enjoying the casino-look for several years now. I think it's my turn now. : )

And PS: You are obviously not as big a fan of Dieter Rams as I am — (and Ive, for that matter).
