Strange issue I'm having with Halo: When I join a multiplayer (internet) game, The game doesn't lag, per se, but every few seconds, it seems like the location of my character shifts a few feet in a random direction. When I stop moving, this behavior stops, but it is very irritating to try to shoot someone when I keep moving around uncontrollably. I have a satellite modem connection (768k). Any help would be awesome.

You really can't do anything about what we call "warping." It's caused by lag. The best things you can do is try to kick off the people with high ping or go to a much faster server.

I would bet that your upload speed on your satellite connection is very low. Most likely the 768kbps speed is download only. Are you using a bi-directional satellite service or the older one with a modem used for uploading?

how do you tell how fast the server is in halo's multiplayer interface, other than the ping list?
