    Hello

I have a g3 apple powerbook and I dropped it.

Now my computer does not recognize the hard drive. I tried to reinstall OS9 and OSX and I couldn't because the computer found no drive to install it on. I didn't drop it that hard or from a long distance, it just took a soft bump on the ground. So here are my questions....

    1) is it possible that the hard drive maybe just slipped out of place? I took the keyboard off to check out the Hard drive but I don't know which piece is the hard drive.

    2) is there any way to test to see if my hard drive is repairable? Or does it sound like it is dead and I need a new one?

    3) if I need a new one, where is the cheapest place to get one?

    4) any other tips or advice on how I can save my current hard drive?

thanks for any replies or advice.

I would check to see if the drive cable got disconnected. Otherwise, if the drive got damaged, you would probably hear something that would clue you in.
